I am a mother, teacher, photographer, explorer. I love to discover new places and see old places with new eyes. Life is definitely all about the journey and finding joy in the simple things…. And they are all around us!!

I am also all about learning and trying new things. You are never too old to learn something new. Blogging is my new thing! I wanted a way to write but to also grow. I wanted a place to put my photographs because they tell my story visually.  So here I am…

A brief word about copyright. All text and photographs belong to me unless otherwise stated. Thank you!

  1. So glad you found and followed mine so I could find and follow yours! I love your photos! Writing and photography are the two great escapes in my life, so I am always so excited to “meet” another kindred spirit! 🙂 now I am off to explore. Also, I saw your mom’s comment on your post. I knew a Karen Vogel when I lived in west Texas in the late 80’s. Wouldn’t it be a small world…? 😉

    • Hi Julie!!! I’m so glad too! It was through Robin that I found yours! I love your snarkiness and sassiness!! It’s my escape as well. Thanks for following and I look forward to following you!
I don’t think my mom ever lived in Texas:-)

      • Aww, Tracy, thank you! I honestly try to make the “S” words (sarcasm, sass, and snark) look good, yet not too rough around the edges, lol. Ok, I’m lying. I’m just me, and what you read is pretty much what you get, except I swear more in real life, lol. 😉

Robin is a doll! I love her to death!

After I posted, it dawned on me that Vogel is probably your mom’s married name. My Karen was single at the time. 🙂

      • I swear too…like a trucker…don’t tell anyone!!!! You do make the S words look great!!! I adore Robin too:-) She is the sweetest person ever…another good S word!
        Yup married name!!

      • Yes! Closet swearers…has a ring to it! Is there a 12 step program for it? No Vogel is unusual:-) I couldn’t wait to get married and change my name!! Sorry Mom!!:-)

      • Heheheheh! I actually use it more now in correspondence, as my middle initial, because JCW looks better to me than JAW, lol. Okay, and now that I am all grown up? I’m a little proud of my heritage. 😉
